Amalgamated Mill to Be Built as Plans Advance

Superintendent Van Wagenen reports New York telegram authorizing immediate construction of the Amalgamated mill. Big Camp Bristle Teaming With Atty Says Bent

Prospecting in the big camp north of Pioche shows new strikes and large ore bodies. Supt Geo E Bent of California Nevada reports a 125 foot winze from 500 level at Gypsy, with a promising shoot and old timers netting 750000. Talks of deeper ore bodies, low grade ore, and plans to sink Tempest shaft while expanding Hillside and Gypsy operations. Amalgamated awards contract for Manchester shaft work

The Amalgamated company awards Dave Empey a contract to sink the prospect shaft at Stampede Gap in the Manhattan group. Work begins immediately and will reach a planned depth of 120 feet upon completion. Jos. Ronnow traveled from Panaca to appear in the drought case with Health Officer Campbell Sghinst T. O. Duckworth.

Schoolmaster fails to appear in Haight ranch dispute case

Walter Gammon faced damages action Walker 8 Gammon vs Conrad Haight before Judge Horsley but failed to appear last Wednesday, leading to dismissal. The Haight boys had earlier recovered possession of the ranch, after Gammon claimed ownership and caused several run-ins, legal actions, and warrants. The Haights remain in possession as rightful owners.

Opening Silver Property Near Old Camp of Bristol

John Whipple, Sunnyside rancher, secured a four year lease on the Horn Silver Mining property near Bristol in Lincoln county and is shipping ore averaging 200 ounces of silver per ton. The claim, originally located a decade ago, features horn silver bromides and chlorides with a large vein yielding 12 to 14 ounces of silver. ore is sent to Salt Lake smelters via Pioché.

Frank Clark Kills Himself in Las Vegas Warehouse

Special to the Record. Las Vegas Nevada December eight o clock this morning the dead body of Frank A Clark a prominent local businessman and brother of County Treasurer Ed W Clark and J A Clark of Psyche was found in a Main Street warehouse. Death was from a self inflicted gunshot with an 8 caliber Colt revolver. The weapon lay near the body with one chamber exploded. It was ruled suicide. The body will be shipped to Salt Lake for interment. Clark, about 45, is survived by a widow two brothers Ed W and J A a sister Mrs Georgia Foulkes two half brothers Judge C J McFadden of Bly and Fred McFadden. Born in Lincoln County he counted many friends who mourn his loss and extend sympathy to the bereaved. J A Clark departed for Caliente to join miners enroute to Salt Lake.

Tungsten Strike at Comet District Mines Report

D Smiley manager of the Silver Comet mine arrived with Mrs Smiley and will return to camp with miners. He says 33 men are on the payroll as of now. A new strike was opened at 16 feet depth in the Panata Mining Smelting area with a 15 foot tungsten ore body grading 35 percent tungsten and containing gold and silver. Smiley pushed the Comet mines toward prominence in the district.

Judge Horsey To Hold Court In Ely

Judge Chas Lee Horsey of Ploce will preside in Ely for the Max Hermann v E W Hulse trial set for late this month. He will arrive on the 18th to sit in the case as Judge McFadden attends a Windemuca murder proceeding. Local importance noted.

Doctor Duckworth Haled Into Justice Court

Health Officer J D Campbell swore to a complaint charging Dr T O Duckworth with failing to report births and deaths. The Roman baby birth at Panaca was not reported within ten days. The case was tried before Justice Harris who imposed a fine of five dollars eighty cents in costs.
