Pioche King Sees Important Change At Prince Consolidated

Activity remains high at Pioche King with anticipation of major developments at the Prince Consolidated camp. West crosscut from the 800 foot shaft nears the Prince vein as miners report increasing mineralization and a potential ore body near the 300 foot shaft.

Atlanta Gold Camp Developments Signal New Ownership

A C Paul of San Francisco and Ely with Ed Milford & Sons completed negotiations for eight claims owned by Jim Hultz and Harry Armitage of Atlanta, adjoining the Atlanta claims. The new group plans immediate up to date development and a road improvement push to Pioche, citing transport challenges and local displeasure with current service. B D Stone and partners begin a two story stone building, 40 by 66 feet, on West Park Street costing around 12000 dollars. Tex Richard, driver for the Paul party, praised Atlanta as promising as the camp moves ahead.

Pioche Transportation expands fleet and stalls setup

Pioche Transportation, formed to take over Culverwell’s livery, buys ten horses and adds new vehicles. The stable now totals 28 stock with plans for a 66 by 92 foot new building. A. D. Smith of Telluride Power Company and Salt Lake & Meridian Rail directs as president, with construction to begin once lumber arrives.

Civil Service Exam Set For Railway Mail Clerk Position

The United States civil service commission announces an examination on September 22, 1909, in Carson City Nevada for the railway mail clerk. Eligibility requires ages 18 to 35 and a minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches and weight of at least 130 pounds without outerwear. Rich ore opened in Oregon Pioche mine

Paul Schultz, contractor at the Oregon Pioche mine in Highland, reported a promising ore vein reached 85 feet deep. The vein widened from knife blade to over six inches, with solid shipping grade galena ore. Officials say the property lies west of Mendha and could extend valuable vein systems in the area.

Railroad surveyors camp again near Prince Extension

Salt Lake Route surveyors have been in camp this week working on the Prince Extension. An effort is being made to push the line out into the flat beyond the original rivers near Met al Mining Co's Poh mine. A conference is expected between W A Clark, J Ross Clark, and W H Bancroft to authorize construction. Prince Consolidated has arranged its portion of advance money, leaving the railroad to issue the go ahead.

MacSherry Ordered to Transfer Lincoln Nevada Stock to Tracy

United States court ruled Joseph H. Tracy is entitled to 150000 shares of Lincoln Nevada Mining and Milling stock held for MacSherry. The company must transfer the shares to Tracy as compensation for an alleged failure to honor a contract to locate and secure mining properties and share profits.

Pioche Commercial Club Organized In City Meeting

An enthusiastic gathering at the courthouse formed the Pioche Commercial Club with 92 members pledging to pay a 5 initiation fee and support the venture. A governing board will be chosen next Friday, while by laws were adopted and the soliciting committee of Lee Simmons Fuller Lloyd Freudenthal were praised for progress.

Mendha Mine Tonnage Grows Steadily on New Levels

Manager John R. Cook reports daily increases in ore tonnage at the Mendha mine. A south drift at the 800-foot level extends beyond 250 feet with high grade ore, and the richest body opened recently may be tapped again on the 900 level. Shipments continue while new equipment is planned to raise output.

Centennial Shaft Advances Toward Ore Deep

Centennial Probe Mining Company under William Lloyd pushes the shaft on its property toward deeper rock. Reported yesterday at 80 feet with solid formation not yet reached. Lloyd remains confident ore will show soon as wash is cut. Contract awarded to James Cline and William Price for 100 feet of sinking amid growing demand for Centennial stock.

Five Fifty Level of Prince 18 Mine Update

Superintendent Lloyd reports the five fifty level of Prince Consolida ted shows a large vein with high grade lead, gold, and silver near the 550 ft level. A raise from 650 to 80 ft intersects the vein, with two ore cars to ship early next week. One car carries lead 10-12 percent and 16-20 oz silver with gold and iron excess. the other car has higher silver 130-140 oz, lead 30 percent and gold.

Ploche Metal mine develops high grade lead silver ore

Splendid news from the Ploche Metal Mining Company's Point mine reports Superintendent David Lemmon extracting considerable high grade lead and silver ore. A winze is being sunk from the 100 foot level, steadily improving. The Piobe Metal property is described as a splendid one and is expected to develop into a large producer shortly.

Pioche Water Extends Mains Toward New School

The Pioche Water Company plans to extend its mains north to the new public school building and has ordered 1000 feet of 4 inch pipe with converse lock joints. Eighteen new hydrants will be installed, replacing the old ones, improving fire protection for residents on Pioche Street.

Work progresses at the Prince Extension shaft

The shaft on the Prince Extension Mining Company property near the Prince Consolidated mine reaches about 70 feet. Superintendent B. W. Pierce notes progress at roughly two feet per shift since work began. The Prince Extension is controlled by Portland, Oregon.

Oregon Pioche Equipment 18 Now in Commission

New equipment installed at the Oregon Pioche mine in Highland district is in commission. A contract to sink the shaft 100 feet will reach 175 feet. The property is equipped with a 10 horsepower gasoline engine.
