Amalgamated Mines prepares for an active campaign in its district likely starting before June. H. R. Van Wagenen arrives as superintendent to head operations, with leases expected to be let. Nevada game laws and several county real estate deeds appear in the same issue.
A Washington dispatch notes that Nevada will receive 50 000 acres of land to fund the University of Nevada with earnings from sales or leases. Senator Pittman introduces a bill for 1 000 000 acres to create a highway fund and support Nevada's portion of a national highway. Representative Roberts advances bills granting post offices and on rural cities like Ely Elko Fallon Las Vegas, detailing new federal land grants and city improvements.
A grand cascade forms a central group of palaces stretching north to south. Water from a mysterious source flows into two large fountains. The court showcases Spanish Renaissance architecture designed for colonial scale pageantry. A great tower at the northern entrance rises with a pipe organ and echo organs.

Special to the Record from Alamo Nevada April 2. L C Allen traveled to Caliente and returned with material for Phathine nursing water. Mrs Mary Allen has returned to Salt Lake after visiting her father C R Allen for three months. A daughter was born to the wife of Koonah Schofield on April 20. Belda Higbe visited Caliente last week. Ed Weaver Johnnie Weaver and Taylor Brown with Miss Taylot Hiko visited Ramon Fil Jay and Saturday. Marjory Stewart returned from Eureka Utah after visiting her sister Mrs Udall. Sumner Stewart went to Caliente for Willie T Stewart's store supplies. Harry Purnett and Miss Grace Slack came from the Gardner ranch Sunday. They were guests of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Richard. Pahranagat valley was struck by a heavy thunder shower last Thursday night.
Abe Lincoln Leased Al T. Godbe has secured a lease on the Abe Lincoln mine and Hat Moon mine and plans to start work. The Abe Lincoln is owned by John A. Kiruy and associates.
The Mendha mill installation is progressing favorably and will soon begin producing concentrate and crude ore. The Drag Store relocation is nearly complete just below the Hodges-Cook store and Dr Stockham plans to open the new store tonight.
General Manager Bent reports construction of an ae ral tramway from Inck Rabbit terminal to Bristol mines. K L Trading forms new firm led by BE Kala as president and Fred R Levi as manager, backed by Kahn and Lov. The line aims to boost ore shipments from multiple mines and support county and state commerce.
Nevada tax commissioners Colburn Boyle and Adamson returned from Sacramento and plan a state tour. They will visit Reno Tomopah Godtel Picche and other counties to study conditions and craft a statewide action plan while the Iron mine increases output to 150 tons daily. A shipment from the property will be made in a few days.
Arbor day celebration in Pioche last Friday featured a student program with Lena Franks, president of the Sings of 1913, delivering the class address. Gold and white colors were worn. a tree was dedicated to Miss Carrie Thompson, and the spade passed to the class of 1914 with a call to uphold the custom of planting trees.
Smiley, after returning from the east last Saturday, reports purchasing a tilting plant for the Silver Comet mine in the Comet district where he is manager. He also bought a 5 ton auto truck to haul ore to the railroad, with plans for a spur two miles south of Panica and a large ore bin. Developments under Smiley are described as highly gratifying and the mine may soon become a permanent shipper. Chas Millett sold his cattle herd to Henry Lee and plans to leave the county after the final delivery, aiming to locate on the Pacific coast.
The Hyde Sheep company closed a deal to sell the Wilson Creek ranch to Murray Sheep company. Murray Sheep also takes over Hyde Sheep and range. Reported consideration is 434 000 dollars. A C Hyde travels to Diego to stay permanently.
Mrs. Alice Johnson of Golffield state Rebekah organization visited Monday. A special afternoon meeting featured an exemplification of degrees work followed by an evening banquet. Miss Blanche Coakley presented a souvenir token from the lodge.
