In Jicarilla New Mexico on December 24 news arrives of an Audio point discovery near Audio peal led by veteran miner PLC Bell. The shaft reached about 22 feet in free milling ore averaging 13 to 20 per ton with some specimens panning as high as 2000 per ton. Local arrivals include Armstrong ONeil Walker from Cowhill and Fred Haines with Dan Pardee from Dolores placers. Haines introduces a improved dry washer machine, while Roberts from Roswell drills in Ancho gulch. Placer Co at Anc ho gulch expands housing for machinery and George Weishir plans a 26th shaft to open pay streak believed about 30 feet deep and 450 feet wide with pay around 82 per yard.
