Exhibit Highlights Extinct Mylohyus Fossilis Skull At Shenandoah Caverns
Shenandoah Caverns unveils a new exhibit featuring a replica skull of the extinct long nosed peccary Mylohyus fossilis found in 2023 within a cave crawlspace during a Shenandoah County Cave Survey mapping. The two skulls and other bones show a pig like mammal once widespread from Central to South America and into the American Southwest before vanishing about 12,000 years ago. Carter and Henry win GOP nod for Warren County supervisors
Tony F. Carter and Hugh B. Henry secured the Republican nomination for Warren County Board of Supervisors in the 2025 race, with Carter defeating Cameron Williams and Henry defeating Patrick Penne.
