Alcazar refugees describe a 72 day siege with mass executions of about 600 priests in Toledo and a gas attack. They recount black bread, horse meat, and hope, with 80 killed and 500 wounded women and children escaping injured. One priest survived while Mass continued underground.
City council with full attendance approves minutes and bills, discusses street grading before freeze, and installs an automatic oil burner in the city building. Prince Alfonso Carlos of the royal Bourbons aged 85 died in Vienna after an automobile collision last night. He had previously made an unsuccessful bid for the Spanish throne. The death was announced today, and the case is noted as a fatal road accident.
