The nationwide soft coal strike will end next Tuesday October 1 after a Tuesday night agreement between producers and miners. Union leader John L Lewis said miners secured all demands including a nine cent per ton pay raise for diggers and loaders and fifty cent rise for day workers. The pact lasts until April 1, 1937.
