Nome High School will stage commencement on Thursday May 21 at 8 PM at the Dream Theater. United States Commissioner C C Taner will give the main address. The six graduates are Gertrude Johansen Dorothy Nelson Evelyn Wallace Milton OFarrell Walter Slack and Pearse Walsh.
All Pioneers of Alaska Igloo No. 1 invite members to the funeral of Sydney Henry Burgh at the Federated Church at 2 PM on Thursday May 21. Almer Rydeen, president, directs the Nugget subscription.
S Henry Burgh longtime sourdough and Nevada bar owner dies at 6 35 P M Monday May 18 after a cerebral hemorrhage. Born 1870 in Detroit he mined from Alaska to Nome serving on the City Council as mayor and in the Alaska Legislature. Survived by wife three children and brothers in Nome and Naches Washington. Funeral planned at Federated Church May 21 with Pioneers of Alaska Igloo No 1 in charge.
Beginning May 19 the City of Nome directs citizens and property owners to clean their property and rear beach areas. Grant Nelson travels Nugget Gulch to Nome and tomorrow plans Hot Springs Nugget Gulch Deer ing and Candle with freight and passengers.
