Mrs. Andre Wy. Loder was arrested in Seattle for using the mails to fraudulently promote shares in a non existent Kupreanof Island copper mine. She claimed the Kupreanof Copper Mining and Smelting Co owned eighty thousand acres and would rapidly develop the site, circulating circulars nationwide and selling stock before a postal inspector halted the scheme.
