A federal search by Nome officials led to the arrest of Jimmy Richards a 21 year old Es kimo in connection with the murder of John Nilima at Buckland Old Village. The NAT plane crew and U S officials traced Richards from Buckland Old to New Villages after sightings and recovered evidence including five dollar bills used to buy a dog sled. A coroner's inquest at Candle found Nilima shot in the left ear from behind with the bullet exiting the right eye.

Bill For 40 Hour Week Introduced In Senate
Washington March 26 Senator Thomas Democrat of Oklahoma introduced a bill in the senate to extend the forty hour week to federal employees and Alaska Railroad workers. Delegate Dimond had a similar bill in the house and the Indian Affairs Committee favored extending Wheeler Howard Act benefits to Alaska Indians. The act provides financial aid to Indians in operations of cooperatives and related businesses.

Explosion at Mexican railroad station kills twenty
In Tultenango state of Mexico a dynamite car exploded at the railroad station, killing twenty and injuring about sixty.
