Juneau March 18 Governor Troy vetoed House Bill 139 Paupers Oath which would have allow ed persons without means sentenced 0 fine or imprisonment to be released from serving of the fine by taking a pauper s oath. He sent the bill without his signature to the Secretary of Alaska and argued it would not aid those invoking the provision and that courts would likely impose longer jail terms as court costs are paid from the C Fund from fines and forfeitures.
