The four day Tee Carnival climaxed with a night parade led by Miss Marguerite Lee of Nome as Miss Alaska and her court. Fireworks followed, and the event ended with a Grand Midnight Ball and prizes for competitors.

Three items in the general appropriations bill were vetoed by Governor Troy. The Walker measure creating a Bureau of Criminal Investigation and seeking 7000 dollars was struck down, along with 10000 dollars for subsidies to Ketchikan and Anchorage radio stations and 3000 dollars for shipping between St Michael and Kotzebue. The governor opposed subsidies.
A federal grand jury returned a true bill charging R B Merrill with contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the District Court. The petit jury was called and excused until Thursday after the grand jury had not yet finished its investigation. Subscribe for The Nugget.
Circuit Judge Allan Campbell granted an injunction demanding the sit down strikers evacuate Chrysler Corp. plants occupied since last Monday. He asserted even if the Wagner Labor Relations Act is valid it does not permit occupying others property. He warned that respect for law and courts is at risk and that there must be no compromise. Defendants admitted seizing the property.
Einer Ulrichsen, employed on the drills, suffered several fingers from one hand cut quite severely this morning. He received medical attention from Dr. Thomas Morcom.
Washington March 15 Delegate Anthony J Dimond extended to the Soviet Embassy the Nome Chamber of Commerce invitation for Soviet flier F B Fahrig now at Anadyr to land in Nome during his Arctic Circle flight He expected to receive a reply on Monday.
Washington March 15 Treasury officials faced a flood of income tax returns hoping to balance the federal budget for the current fiscal year. March receipts are seen around 840 million dollars the largest since World War II. If confirmed, the Treasury will not need to borrow further funds. Morgenthau plans to retire 300 million of maturing notes and pay about 160 million in interest. Social Security tax collections will also add substantially to the revenue.
