King Edward VIII delivered a first radio message as king, stating he remains the same man despite assuming the throne. He described knowing people in many countries and pledged to continue efforts to promote well being among his fellowmen. The broadcast was relayed to ten countries including the United States.
London reports that Germany said it was prepared to negotiate an Anglo German bilateral treaty based on the four power naval conference accord. France opposed German participation while Britain pressed for an international naval treaty with German representation. Germany tied the bilateral pact to acceptance by other naval powers.
A Nugget office advertises availability of placer and lode location blanks for sale. The notice lists details for prospectors and provides contact points for purchasing filings.
The Treasury asked the nation to lend 1.809 billion dollars including 800 million as a supplement to cash reserves for relief farm and bonus payments. It planned 1.25 billion cash borrowings with 450 million for short term loan repayments due March 16. New securities offered totaling 559 million mature April 15 to mid March financing, aiming for a cash balance over 2 billion and a national debt peak of 31.1 billion dollars.

Spokesmen warn Mussolini may accept peace terms and Italy is ready to consider adequate proposals. Emperor Selassie seeks to bolster northern defenses amid possible peace talks.
Germany unveiled its first long distance television telephone service linking Berlin and Leipzig. Images resemble early films on an eight inch square surface with cable transmission for privacy. A three minute call costs one dollar and forty cents as ordinary receivers are used on each end.
A second blood transfusion was given to Lou Ann Markle an Anchorage girl receiving treatment for a bone infection at Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children. Patrolman Fred A West donated a pint for the first transfusion several days earlier with other Portland patrolmen contributing as well.
Pilot Joe Crosson of Pacific Alaska Airways and Copilot Walter Hall arrived in Fairbanks from Spokane via Prince George and Tetlin in eleven hours of actual flying time. Along the route Miss Mary Joyce was reported to have passed Tetlin en route to Tanana Crossing.
The theft report places Dwigh t Morrow Jr. as victim, with papers said to include his mother's European itinerary. Authorities anonymous say talks of a New Jersey officials meeting may be tied to the loss. Morrow reported the theft to Colonel Swartzkopf, State police head, in Cambridge Massachusetts. Supporters of Governor Hoffman hint a New Jersey Legislature resolution may seek a probe of the State police.
