Berlin reports authoritative sources say Hitler has sent a fleet of German U boats to Spanish waters as a shield against any Spanish government assault. He is said to be determined and ready for any eventuality in the Spanish crisis regardless of London or the non intervention committee actions.
Premier Mussolini and Field Marshal Werner von Blomberg coordinate Italian and German forces in Spain for an intensified drive under Franco against the besieged Bilbao region.
Wilbur Shaw 33 of Indianapolis won the Indy auto race record before about 170000 spectators, finishing about ten seconds ahead of Ralph Hepburn. Ted Horn placed third, Louis Meyer fourth, Shaw averaging 113.58 mph and earning about forty thousand dollars.

The Duke of Windsor and Mrs Wallis Warfield were married at noon in a civil ceremony at Monts France, followed by a religious ceremony at Chateau de Candé. American spokesman Herman L Rogers announced details of the union as reporters observed the couple becoming man and wife.
Washington June 3 The State yesterday passed and sent to the White House a bill permitting Alaskan municipalities to float bond issues with the approval of sixty five percent of the taxpayers voting in any special bond election. The 1936 law inadvertently required sixty five percent of all taxpayers including non voters.
