Dr Walter J Bauer a 38 year old bridegroom from Cleveland was abducted in Ann Arbor and taken by car to a South Side Chicago wooded area where he was tortured and died five hours after surgery. His bride Marie, a nurse, was hospitalized in Kirksville and notified of the tragedy. The suspect was a jealous man known to Bauer’s wife.
