The Amvelsted Press reports flood disasters across the Midwest. Death toll nears 137 with about 750000 homeless. damages estimated at 300 million dollars. Kentucky Ohio Illinois areas ravaged. delays in electricity and water. soldiers aiding refuges. fires and evacuations noted.

President Roosevelt signed legislation extending the Reconstruction Finance Corporation life to June 30 1939. The act also provides similar extension for allied units including Commodity Credit, Ex-Im through banks, Electric Supervision, and Farm Home Authority.
Chairman Jesse Jones said the RFC paid out billions since 1932 and repaid billions in support. The case centers on the will claimed by Harriet Ridgeley Browne and Charlotte Mundem who says she found the will leaving $20000 to the housekeeper. A Superior Judge suggested referral to the prosecutor as the will may be forged and the matter may reach the State Supreme Court on appeal.
