A El Paso report says Carranza authorities in Juarez executed two Mexican suspects tied to the killing of American Bert Akers at San Lorenzo last Friday. The men, condemned after a rapid hearing, were shot at the Juarez cemetery. Authorities hunt remaining suspects in attacks on Americans in northern Mexico.
London January 25 under secretary of war Tennant rejected a Daily Mail report claiming German Forkkerar planes vastly outclassed British aircraft. He said British air forces are meeting the foe as well as ever, with both sides suffering similar losses. He noted a recent surge in air operations and presented a four week loss tally to counter the claim.
Washington reports that President remitted the two thousand dollar fine for John H. Bullock after conviction for conspiring with others to defraud the government by collusive bidding to supply coal to Alaska army posts. Bullock and Charles B. Huston faced prison terms with Bullock's fine removed by executive action.
Knute Nelson, a former Seattle minister once respected in Puget Sound society, died among outcasts in Portland. His fall began with alcohol and the loss of his wife who had divorced him years earlier, leaving stocks and bonds of value. He drifted into the lowest ranks of society after mounting domestic troubles.
London reports a heavy German air raid on Dunkirk at six this morning targeting French and British field hospitals and camps. Casualty figures are unavailable but presumed high, as hospitals may hold many wounded from the front. Ceiling cards urged at Nugget office.

Only limited pay found near Lovell ground and a few spots yield small values. many plan to move or wait for spring as others shift to Placer creek. Weather has been extremely cold.
In BupPalo New York on January 26, a boiler defect caused the Selker Blower Company building to collapse. Fifteen workers died and many others were fatally injured as debris trapped scores, with fires spreading until the flames were controlled by the fire department. Overall thirty four persons are dead or gravely injured.
Seattle Jan 24 reports from Scenic say eight people died when a Great Northern owl train from Spokane was struck by an avalanche sweeping down the mountain side. Four bodies of the dining car passengers have been recovered. over two hundred men search for the rest, all believed buried. Most passengers accounted for except eight missing.
Washington dispatch reports the administration seeks faster congressional action to energize the defense program. Close aides say the president believes current tactics hinder the effort and fear congressional inactivity threatens progress.
