North Star delayed by storm damage replacing by General Gorgas
Seattle January 4 R H Ummel government purchasing agent says repair work on the North Star will push its northbound voyage to about January 20 from the sixth. The General Gorgas will take her place arriving January 9 with a full cargo of food and supplies and head north again around January 15. The Arctic is due today and will sail for San Francisco soon.

He edited the Nome Nugget and Seward Gateway and led the Fairbanks News Miner before joining the Anchorage Times.
