Indianapolis reports claim Charles Bookwalter named Samuel Gompers as informed about John J McNamara directing dynamiting outrages against non union works. Bookwalter says he warned labor leaders and AFL president Gompers, and asserts he can prove the assertion. Eagle Social Dance note follows.
Washington dispatch reports Admiral Fighting Bob Evans died after a two hour illness from indigestion. He complained after breakfast, grew worse, and despite medical care, passed away within two hours. Evans, a longtime naval figure, was about to retire to his East Coast home. Arlington Cemetery will receive his remains with full honors.
Secretary Nagel denounces the policy of breaking up mergers into parts as costly and ineffective. He argues trusts persist and higher taxes raise consumer costs, citing Standard Oil and American Tobacco as examples.
