The Department of the Interior reports Alaska’s 1934 mineral output value rose by about 6.4 million dollars from 1933 to 10.366 million. Gold production, valued at 35 dollars an ounce, reached 16.105 million with total gold since 1880 at 435 million. Placers yielded 8.996 million, lodes the rest, mainly in Southeastern Alaska. coal output stood at 112 thousand tons.
