Norfolk January 1 Allied warships warn all allied merchant ships to beware German submarines operating off the American coast. Submarine activity away from shore is reported, possibly tied to disappearances of large freighters and a supposed warship explosion.
King Charles, during his coronation circles in Budapest, shows strong favor toward peace if obtainable on terms proportional to Teutone victories. He spoke on peace with archducal and high officials. Lane secretary of the interior and Clay Tallman commissioner of the general land office. He seeks to halt an order to reject his land selection in Los Angeles county California for failure to procure quitclaim deeds to the property.
