Body Of Lloyd Kinder Found Near Nome Inquest Opens

The body of Lloyd Kinder, who disappeared last December with companions en route to Silver Creek quartz mines, was found by two Eskimos near Nome. The skull and shoulder were damaged by foxes. burial was arranged at the discovery site. Kinder’s relatives in Pomona, California, had earlier funded a search.

Watchmaker H Brorson Found Dead in Kougarok Cabin

H Brorson a Nome watchmaker and jeweler for two years was found dead on the floor of his cabin on Macklin Creek in the Kougarok section. Martin Backstrom and Pete Satterlee, his coworkers, found him and alerted Taylor and Nome.

Nome Marshal Gaffney Dies in Seattle at 71

US Marshal in Nome since Roosevelt era died in Seattle from diabetes aged 71. A resident of Nome 37 years, he arrived with federal prisoners November 5. Former miner, he served as the First Alaska Legislature member and was unmarried. Survived by a brother in Ireland and a sister in Boston. His body will be sent to Nome on the first boat next season.

Funeral Held for Mrs. Sarah Jane Dease in Seattle

Funeral services were conducted at Forkner's Chapel for Mrs. Sarah Jane Dease of 6229 First Ave N W Seattle who died November 11. A prominent social figure, she served as matron of Greenwood Chapter No. 196 O S in 1930 and was noted for charity and lending a helping hand to the sick and distressed.
