Japan to Launch Five Year Plan for Global Fisheries
The Associated Press reports Japan will mobilize all marine products organizations for a five year plan to expand fishing worldwide. Fisheries trade commissioners will push into the United States Canada Great Britain Germany South America and South Africa to open markets. New grounds will be set in the Marshall and Bonin Island groups and northern Kuriles with intensive training for fishermen, and whaling boats will operate in the Antarctic Ocean.

Pilot Hans Mirow of the Mirow Air Service arrives in Nome aboard a Sikorsky five place amphibian after a Loire chain journey from Seattle with 5W Taggart and Peter Bowlan as thru passengers. The craft departed Seattle Friday, stopped at Alert Bay and Juneau, spent nights at Koyukuk Station and Fairbanks, arriving at Nome at 7 0 am today. The plane is marked Mirow Air Service and Exploration Service Erskine Baker Nome on its hull.
