It cites kerosene costs about 40 cents a gallon, heavy lamp upkeep in winter, smoky walls, and eye strain from poor light. Projected plant cost is 800, with 500 needed, asking readers to contribute to install before fall.
A four year old girl named Annie Louise Cohn arrives on the 23rd to live with a family. She has dark eyes light hair and a fair complexion. Her maternal grandfather Mr Sundberg cooked at the Orphanage for years and is now deceased. Her mother is recovering from the influenza. Louise is named after her mother and the family hopes she grows up to be a nice modest young woman and capable housekeeper.
