The April period mirrored January with cold winds as students staged an Easter program including three year old Kohlia singing Jesus Loves Me. Easter eggs were distributed, Beater cattle donated for dinner, and preparations for the Azmo schooner cargo loss as crew awaited discharge. Peter Calugan departed with the Azmo for his first life outside Kudiak. Superintendent Learn’s furlough took him through Portland McMinnville Vancouver Chicago Buffalo Rochester and Manlius, ending with church visits and slides prepared for the orphanage trip.
