Preston County students protest school consolidation plan

About 500 students and parents from Tunnelton Newburg and Aurora paraded in Kingwood in a ten day protest at the Preston County Board of Education over a consolidation plan. Police praised the peaceful crowd with 200 lingering at the building for a 7 30 p m board talks.

Trucker Passing Causes Collision on Rt 57

A tractor trailer driven by Arden Morrison and a pickup driven by Chester Davis collided on Rt 57 as Morrison was being passed. Davis, who skidded to avoid the passing truck, was treated and released from Broaddus Hospital. Both vehicles sustained about $2,000 in damage. The passing driver was cited. identity unavailable.
