Carter wary of losing nomination amid active Humphrey bid
Jimmy Carter said there is a possibility he could be beaten for the Democratic presidential nomination but he is not worried by Hubert Humphrey considering an active campaign. He noted Humphrey’s moves remain uncertain as primaries proceed and stressed he would reassess after big contests Tuesday. Ford and Reagan stood firm on the Republican side with Udall and Church also campaigning in Ohio and New Jersey.
