Grafton woman hurt in crash near Rt 50 and 250

A Grafton woman Loretta Ann Curry in satisfactory condition after a pickup went out of control and struck a parked car near Rt 50 West and Rt 250 on Saturday at 1 p.m. Richard Franklin Curry cited for failure to maintain control. Damage totaled $1,350 across two other vehicles. An additional ditch incident near Thornton Hill caused no injuries and no citations.

Two Killed in West Virginia Weekend Crashes

State police report two West Virginia residents died in weekend traffic accidents. Robert Paul Green, 62, of Benwood, died when his car left W V 2 between Glen Dale and McMechen, flipped, and he was thrown from the vehicle. Arthur Little, of Gary, died in a Saturday crash on W V 102 in McDowell County after his car struck a guard rail and went over an embankment around noon. R Doyne Halbritter, 73, a Kingwood historian, died at his home Friday evening, noted member of the West Virginia Historical Society, recent TV appearance on Tales of West Virginia.

Grafton led West Virginia cities with a 6.3 percent jump in the January Marketbasket, rising from 13.62 to 14.48 dollars driven mainly by higher meat costs. statewide AP Marketbasket averaged 14.78, with Charleston showing a slight decline and WVU predicting further price rises in 1976 due to labor, packaging, and transport costs.
