Denver, June 29 Frank H. Henwood was found guilty of murder in the second degree for the death of George Copeland. The jury announced the verdict at 11:30 p.m. after the trial judge approved it. Henwood faced a sentence of 10 years to life as set by the court.
In Juarez serious trouble is threatened if the recalled officers are removed on Saturday. Messages have been sent to Francisco I. Madero Jr. and President De la Barra warning that the people will take up arms if the customs officers are removed as announced.
Washington reports discuss President Taft weighing the withdrawal of federal troops stationed in Texas since the war’s end. A decision is expected as tensions ease, with Mexico’s stability cited as a factor. Train crews meanwhile described a heavy shower north of Stanley yesterday afternoon.

Frank Sherman helped Jim fence a Forest Reserve quarter section this week. Dr Woods of McIntosh visited last Sunday and a girl was born at the Cobolt home. Evear Perser celebrated her twelfth birthday with Miss Emme Eves as guest. Mr and Mrs Kutchins and Jess Hubbard’s family attended music late night. Mr Sweeney plans a trip to Albuquerque this week to sell butter and cheese at higher prices.
Mr and Mrs A V Goodin spent Wednesday night with their son Monte in town and left yesterday morning for home at Roswell. They were en route home from Las Palomas hot springs.
In Carlsbad New Mexico on June 23 the commercial peach crop ripened earlier than normal. Mamie Ross and Carman varieties lead the ready fruit with shipments by express for about a week. July should see car lots begin. W L Gifford of Stockton California oversees picking packing and shipping, bringing experienced handling to the operation.

Four masked men attempted a train robbery on Southern Pacific No. 14 near West Park, taking 400000 dollars in gold and rifling the mail car after dynamiting the safe. They forced the engineer to move the train, then fled with the loot as pursuing posses search the area.
