Arrested at Moriarty after months of evading capture

Mounted Policeman Rafael Gomez finally tracked Homer Irwin, indicted last December for knifing Sharon in a Moriarty saloon, to a barn hideout after months on the run. Irwin, claiming self defense, posted bond to appear at the next district court term and may resume living on his homestead.

Letter hints at return to Texas farm after poor crops

In a letter to the News editor Thomas J. Tarlton says he may return this fall if crops rebound. He notes corn near gone and oats poor, yet other crops fare better despite six weeks without rain. He is in Mahank Kaufman County, Texas. A Catholic prayer meeting drew a good crowd at Lue Ras Hall last night.

Albuquerque Bindmen to Showcase Aviation Tourney

Albuquerque residents will see real birdmen in action this fall as the state fair adds an aviation tournament to its attractions. Temperance Meeting Call at Baptist Church

Woman Dies After Jump From Moving Train

Rocky Ford Colorado June 15. While temporarily insane Mrs S N Frivett thirty eight of Eskridge Kansas leaped from a window of a westbound Santa Fe train and was killed. She was being taken to Colorado Springs for her health when she left her berth for water and did not return. An open window in the retiring room with its screen missing revealed the plunge. The body was found by a freight train conductor.

Insurrecto Force Threatens Gliter City Battle

In Chihuahua Mexico on June 15 four thousand federal troops under three generals patrol to block General Orosco’s insurgent army from entering Gliter City. Orosco’s forces move north along the railroad toward Sauz. Tensions rise as a federal lieutenant is killed by an insurgent in town. Governor Gonzales expects evacuation and eventual insurgent entry to Chihuahua.
