M M Cigar Store revival gains URA support in Uptown Butte
The Butte URA approved a 42450 grant covering 25 percent of renovations to the former Mongolian Grill building next to the M M Cigar Store. Owner Selina Pankovich hopes it funds a bar and eatery and envisions rebuilding the original M M over time. The board noted 18 projects this year totaling 624105 in investment with 174222 in grants.

Tribes in Montana receive 3.5 million in justice funds
Montana tribal police agencies will obtain over 3.5 million dollars in annual Justice Department money. The Crow Tribe gets 607,751, Blackfeet Nation 719,669, Fort Peck 504,456, Chippewa Cree 410,245 via the Crime Victim Fund. Fort Belknap will gain 739,501 under the FY2022 Coordinate Grant Program to boost victim services, prevent missing Indigenous people cases, and address human trafficking.
