Berkeley Pit eyed for rare earth metals extraction
Montana Resources leads early stage work to pull rare earth elements from Berkeley Pit water with partners West Virginia University and the Montana Bureau of Mines. U.S. Army CCDC representative Robert Olson and WVU professor John Quaranta were on site as slurry moved from Horseshoe Bend Treatment Facility and the pit’s pH was adjusted.
