In Fossil Oregon on September 27 District Attorney George L Dukek said Juanita Louise Carr 23 confessed to killing her three infant children over a year and a half. She described dropping one boy on the floor and smothering two others in their beds. Her husband George Carr believed the deaths were accidental. The three victims were Donald 2 months Gary 2 years and Patricia 2 years. Carr said she was sorry after each killing and offered no clear motive beyond occasional dislike. Dukek will have her examined by a psychiatrist while ruling she is legally sane.

Man Charged After Talcum Powder Passed as Heroin
Seattle report states John Joseph Becket 55 alias Frank Becket was charged with grand larceny for selling talcum powder to federal narcotic agent Henry L. Giordano at a Sept 12 hotel meeting arranged on a tip. Agent planned to buy 4000 dollars of heroin after testing the sample. Becket disappeared but was later arrested.
