Anaconda Co may close its zinc operations in Montana including Great Falls East Helena and Anaconda calcining by mid 1972 unless profitable toll or concentrate contracts are secured. General manager Martin K Hannifan cited rising power costs and reduced competitiveness after past mine closures and toll treatment. Wrecker driver burned as power line downed near Butte
