Mare Dezell recently put an eight ton quartz mill into operation on Pikes Peak creek seven miles west of Pioneer. The plant, using the amalgamating process, reports satisfactory returns by crushing gold-bearing ore and saving about 87 percent of assay values, with residue captured as concentrates.
