Daniel M. Kelly longtime Montana leader and Anaconda Copper official dies at 72. Funeral services at St. Patrick Church with a 10 oclock high mass followed by burial in Holy Cross cemetery. Pallbearers named from among family friends and company executives. The late Mr. Kelly resided in Montana since 1902 aside from a brief Iowa sojourn for education.

Observation Vessel With 30 Aboard Reported Missing
A 210 ton observation ship with 30 men aboard was sent to inspect an undersea volcanic eruption 200 miles south of Tokyo and was reported missing Thursday night. The No. 5 Kaiyo Maru last radioed its position and routine safety report Monday as ships searched the area with no trace found. Another ship, the Kamitaka Maru, reported six violent explosions near the eruption between Monday and Tuesday.
