Power strike paralyzes Pittsburgh area unions jailed leader
A court ordered the end of a power strike in the Pittsburgh steel area by Wednesday and jailed George L. Mueller 35 president of the Power Workers union for contempt of court. Mueller led a defiant stoppage against Duquesne Light Co affecting about 1.5 million residents in an 817 square mile region. Judge Harry H. Drowning Fear Anaconda Man Feared In Lake Tragedy
In Anaconda Montana on September 25 search teams scoured Georgetown lake for Pete Antonich a 40 year old fisherman presumed drowned after his boat capsized during the night. Companion Henry Poel 50 was rescued and treated at St Ann hospital in serious condition. A 15 year old girl operated the search boat as Sheriff Hartsell and other officials led the effort.
