Plane load of tourists crashes and splits near Mexico City
A Mexicana Airlines Boeing 727 carrying U S tourists as flight 801 from Chicago crashed on landing in Mexico City. At least 20 killed and up to 60 injured as the plane split in three places nose first short of the runway. Fire followed and survivors were seen leaving the wreckage.
