Forest fires raged through Calistoga and neighboring Napa Valley as 10 fires burned across the region. The Porcupine Hill blaze jumped a road near Healdsburg, destroying an auto and forcing evacuations while smoke drifted 70 miles south toward the San Francisco Bay Area.
