In Hillsborough California a three year old, Marc de Tristan, son of Count and Countess Marc de Tristan, was abducted by a man who signed as Unconventional Eccentric. Police and federal agents withdrew at the family's request with the ransom money ready for payment and no contact from the kidnapper after 24 hours.
Wendell L. Willkie Republican presidential nominee arrives in Butte Montana aboard his campaign train for a major western stop. The Mining City hosts the largest Western welcome with thousands expected to attend via special train bus and motor caravans while he delivers a principal campaign address.
Wendell L. Willkie's address will be carried by Butte Bozeman and Helena radio stations of the Z bar network starting about 8:30 PM. Dinner attendees at the Butte Press club may proceed to Finlen hotel banquet room to hear the stadium address via radio and loudspeaker.
