Age of Murder Plot Exposed by 15 Year Old Witness
Riverside reports reveal Sanford Clark, 15, told officers and reporters how an aged mother planned and helped kill nine year old Walter Collins in Los Angeles. Mrs Louisa Northcott and her son Gordon Northcott were indicted for murder in Riverside. The boy said Collins was taken to the Northcotts ranch after witnessing the killing by Northcott and a miner.

Flames raze Britannia mine landmark near West Iron
Crowds along the Anaconda highway watched flames engulf the Britannia mine bunkhouse and buildings near West Iron Street and Western Avenue shortly before 10 pm. Firefighters could not reach the blaze as water was unavailable beyond the city limits. The cause remains unknown. The historic mine, inactive for over four decades, was once a zinc producer in the area.
