Word reached Khartoum that a C 47 transport was forced down in the Nubian desert Tuesday night. Capt Shine the pilot died after a rescue party reached him Friday night 200 miles southeast of Wadi Halfa and 400 miles northeast of Khartoum. Two Indian crewmen were found among dunes while searching for water.

Rescue planned for airmen downed on Greenland ice cap

Butte 4 H FFA Sale Sets Record Beef Prices Across Auction
At the Montana Livestock Auction Company pavilion during the sixth annual Butte 4 H and FFA Livestock Show and Sale, 177 animals were sold including 76 beef 33 swine and 68 sheep. Beef averaged 39 cents a pound beating Montana shows this fall. Highest price per pound went to Theresa Ann Oswald for a breeding lamb bought by McGlynn Radio and Appliance at 65 cents. Frank Stanchfield earned 563.75 for a prime beef at 55 cents per pound from Hennessy Company. The Food Bank of Butte paid similarly for 840 prime beef by Byron Hill. Wally Rauser sold a 200 pound prime hog to Hansen Packing at 39 cents per pound and 52 cents per pound for prime lamb.
