Washington dispatch reports Idaho Senator endorses Senator Pittman’s plan to boost silver as a cure for inflation. Nine cotton-state spokesmen adopt a resolution urging President Roosevelt to act while inflation opponents remain quiet.
Senator Borah announced support for Senator Pittman of Nevada with the proposal to authorize the president to buy American mined silver at parity with gold. The plan would buy silver around 1.19 dollars per ounce, a sizable rise from current prices, while Borah urged treating silver as money, not a commodity.
Members of Congress rally to support currency expansion urged by Senator Thomas of Oklahoma. The drive aims to push President Roosevelt to enact monetary expansion, with telegrams and letters flowing to the senator while southern voices push inflation for farmers.
The Labor-Employer Co-Operative Council argues it is unfeasible to run both Butte high and Washington Junior high under current conditions. Enrollment rose from 1900 to 2250 in two years, with one session per school strained. Proposes two high school sessions and closing Washington as temporary and calls for a new modern high school building as permanent relief.

Hal Neff a 26 year old mail pilot was located near Leoni Michigan five miles from Jackson after lying seriously injured in an isolated wooded area for more than two days. He was brought to W. A. Foote Memorial hospital for treatment.
Oklahoma City on September 18 reports twelve small town business men and farmers chosen to sit in judgment. Eleven men and one woman stand accused of conspiring and kidnapping Charles F Urschel, a leading oil figure. The courtroom sits under heavy security with deputies armed around the perimeter. Prosecution and defense will present five statements tomorrow before Urschel testifies.
In San Jose California David Lamson the Stanford University Press sales manager faces the death penalty for the murder of his wife Allene. Judge R R Syer set the sentence for 10 a m tomorrow with execution likely December 15. Defense says new evidence may warrant a new trial claiming another person killed Allene.
Leslie McHees, 28, of Sweetgrass, must serve five years in state prison for abducting Edith Morgan, 20, on Sept 4 after being shot by Edith's sister Lillian. He pleaded guilty to second degree assault and will be taken to prison tomorrow.
State fire marshal John Mountjoy launched an investigation into a Sunday early morning explosion and fire that demolished Mrs. Mary Gallagher’s home at 223 Boardman Street. Pete O’Hara, 66, of 438 Hopkins Street, was critically injured and hospitalized at St James with severe burns and internal injuries. his condition was described as poor and failing. The blast occurred shortly before 2 AM and O’Hara was found semi conscious afterward.
A veteran of the mining world dies in Butte after a life spent mining wherever precious metals have been found. He worked in Africa Australia South America Alaska Michigan and Grass Creek among other places. His career spanned decades across multiple continents.

Havana reports a political crisis as President Ramon Grau San Martin confronts an ultimatum from a coalition of opponents. A showdown was expected in a scheduled meeting, with revolutionary groups threatening further action if Grau refuses to resign. The opposition groups including A B C O C R R Menocalists nationalists Marianistas and others argued for a nationalist government replacing Grau. Grau refused to resign, while high political circles warned abdication might be inevitable. The opposition outlined two or three definite paths to pursue if Grau remains in office.
Patricia Maguire a 29 year old Oak Park woman enters a fever machine after a beauty treatment as part of an experimental cure. The Clark hyperpyrexator heats the body while doctors note her long sleep since February 15 1932 and her improving general health. In St Louis officials report a continuing decline in the sleeping sickness epidemic with 868 cases and 157 deaths.
Floral Park improvement district for sanitary sewers must be recreated before becoming a public works project. The district formed in 1932 had no bonds market so work was not done. County officials plan to seek over 300000 from the federal works program, with the project costing above 20000, and will ensure district steps are in place before submitting to the advisory board.
