Accident Victim Preston In Fair Condition After Crash
Alvin J. Preston 46 of 1651 Whitman suffered serious injuries Friday when his car toppled in the 1100 block East Perk Street. He was moved from St James to Murray hospital where attendants reported his condition as fair. Passenger Zoreen Ball 1303 Sliver Bow Homes received minor cuts and bruises at St James. Investigating officers included Highway Patrolman Herbert Slack and city and county deputies.

Butte Couple Loses Wife in Idaho Jeep Crash
Mrs. Lawrence Meyers, wife of a Butte man, was fatally injured in a Jeep accident Tuesday near Idaho Falls while carrying their 15 month old daughter. The baby was unhurt. Mr Meyers left for Idaho Falls after learning of the crash and the couple had been married two years. They formerly lived on Colorado Street in Butte. The accident details were sparse. Mrs. Meyers visited her parents in St. Anthony Idaho.

The Floral Park Community club met Thursday in the Floral Park church recreation hall. Dinner was served by the hostess committee led by Mrs. R C Olson. Officers for the coming year were elected: Arthur Warne president Tom Mellett vice president Mrs K L Judson secretary and Mrs L N Falcon treasurer. IUMMSW Votes Not to Require Anti-Red Affidavits

A membership referendum on the issue was rejected, with only one dissenting voice. Prowlers Break Into Standard Oil Offices on Holland Street
Prowlers forced entry to the Standard Oil warehouse and offices on Holland Street Thursday night. Police Officers John Lyden and Ed Huhtanen reported the incident. The break in was not reported until Friday evening. Early investigations found no clear sign of items taken from the premises.

Farm Worker Hurt in Jump From Freight Train
A 48 year old itinerant farm worker named Ernest Magnuson was admitted to St. James hospital after jumping from a railroad car during a freight stop at Corbin. He injured his left leg, required railroad help to leave the car in Butte, and weighed under 120 pounds. Magnuson, formerly a painter, said rheumatic fever forced him from work and he has been unable to find farm employment. He has no known relatives, with Aberdeen, South Dakota listed as his last home. A daughter was born Friday in Murray hospital to Mr and Mrs Wilbur Gilt of 1415 Utah and to Mr and Mrs Harold Elliott of 1301 West Porphyry. Another baby girl Diane Sherrie was born Sept 15 to Mr and Mrs R J Rochelle of 601 South Crystal. Midshipman Faul L Maier recently underwent submarine and gunnery training in Cuban waters aboard USS Macon. An Eagles auxiliary meeting is planned Saturday at 2 PM at the Eagles hall.
