Helena reports completion of the Upper Musselshell water storage project begun in 1887. The three earth and rock fill dams form two reservoirs and 50 miles of canals impounding 31,000 acre feet to irrigate about 20,000 acres in Meagher and Wheatland counties and balance Musselshell flows. Funding came via Public Works Administration loans and grants.
Streets filled as Deer Lodge launched a two day race meet with a pet parade.
