Airlines Agree to Higher Fees at Butte Airport
Butte Silver Bow County airport commission announced an oral agreement with Northwest Orient Airlines and Western Air to raise landing fees to 13 cents per 1,000 pounds of flight weight and increase depot space rents to 4.50 per square foot yearly. Western Air would pay about 3,442.50 annually for 765 square feet. Northwest about 18,147.80 for 700 square feet. A black bear cub, likely a yearling, drew swift statewide attention when it climbed a tree at 618 Illinois in southwest Butte. Officials including the sheriff, city police, the Fish and Game Department, and a Mountain Bell ladder crew coordinated the capture at 6 30 PM.
