At a Republican briefing and House Ways & Means hearings GOP leaders pressed President Johnson to reveal plans for a tax increase, wage price controls, or a poverty fight after the November elections. They attacked the administration’s proposals to suspend the 7 percent investment tax credit and to speed depreciation on commercial buildings as part of anti inflation measures.
The Montana Milk Control Board ordered a two cent per quart rise Thursday in nine of the state's twelve milk marketing areas after a hearing the prior week. Executives say the order is being followed though some residents asked why Glen dive was exempt.

Patrick J Fogarty 69 of 220 Elm died Thursday evening in a local hospital. Born December 5 1896 in Butte he studied locally and attended Butte Business College. He worked in the Mines Office of the Anaconda Co until retirement about six years ago. A Navy veteran of World War I and pioneer resident of Silver Bow Park Addition he was a charter member of the Silver Bow Park Athletic Club and the Race Track Volunteer Fire Department and belonged to St Ann Parish. Surviving are his wife Susan sons Emmett and Pat daughters in law and a Helena and Portland man, a sister in California and another in Nebraska and grandchildren Raelene Michael Caleen Sharon and Diane. The body lies at Dolans Mortuary with services tentatively set for Saturday morning.
