State Education Board Sets Nov 10 Budget Meeting
Helena Sept 15 The state board of education will hold a special meeting November 10 to prepare budget figures in view of the November 4 referendum vote and its impact on the Greater University of Montana. The board heard reports from the high school code commission and the State Orphans home and Industrial School and approved chancellor recommendations on faculty appointments. Enrollment across six units is expected to match or exceed last year. Summer school enrollment totaled 1303, up from 1173 and 1363 in 1928. Montana schools produced 500 certified teachers last year. The board approved allowing holders of high school honor scholarships to attend the Montana School of Mines at Butte for one year.
