Helena Diocese launches three year development program

The Diocese of Helena announced a multi year development program aimed at Western Montana's economy. Bishop Raymond G Hunthausen said millions will be spent on construction lands architect fees power and furnishings to create new jobs. The pledge campaign will involve every parish and mission with Catholic families contacted over nine weeks and volunteers trained. A minimum of 550000 is sought for Newman Club activities.

Two More Die On State Roads

An intersection crash on a gravel country road killed Ida Iverson of Conrad and James Oliver Sheppard, 33, of Roundup, raising Montana 1964 road toll to 184. Witnesses said both vehicles were visible. the crash occurred 16 miles east and 5 miles north of Conrad. Iverson rode with Marcus Lineberg of Ledger, who was hospitalized. Sheppard worked for Great Northern Drilling Co. of Billings.
