Montana to mark air anniversary with two day program
Helena. Gov. Sam C. Ford urged Montana to celebrate the first anniversary of the air arm with a two day program at Great Falls. The event will feature H-29 Superfortresses and new jet planes in aerial demonstrations alongside National Guard planes from Cut Bank to Great Falls. A Great Falls Boise unit race was planned as part of the day.

Helena sept 14 Montana's tourist travel peak for 1948 a record year has passed state highway patrol supervisor Charles L Sheridan said traffic on Montana roads remains heavy and despite an auto death total of 103 being nine fewer than 1947 the number of accidents may rise. Travel this year runs about 64 percent above 1947 and 123 percent above 1943 with over 2 260 Montana accidents reported in the first seven months.
